Toni Lindahl

Master Pastelist Toni Lindahl emphasizes movement, patterns, light and shadow in her paintings. Her pastels are diverse in subject matter, ranging from still life and figurative work to landscapes. She has used her work to explore her interest in environmental issues through her Leaf Pattern and Aquatic Landscape series.

Lindahl likes to communicate a sense of mystery through contrasting surfaces, movement, and a variety of patterns. As she showcases the way sunlight plays on petals, leaves, landscapes and fruits, she is aware of the many small compositions lurking within. She likes to work in series and spends countless hours studying her subjects.

Toni Lindahl holds a Masters Degree from New York University and has resided in North Carolina for forty-nine years. Her pastels have won numerous awards in national and international juried exhibitions. She is a member of Greenhill Center for North Carolina Art, a signature member of The Pastel Society of North Carolina and the Degas Pastel Society, and was awarded the title of Master Pastelist by the Pastel Society of America.
